Massage Therapy

Massage therapy

Massage Therapy is an excellent method for improving overall health and musculoskeletal efficiency. Getting a Therapeutic Massage has a number of beneficial effects on the body and the mind including removal of toxins that can build up in the muscles of the body, increasing circulation, and increased flexibility in not only the muscles, but also the connective tissue within the body.

Having a Therapeutic Massage can also help with muscle spasms as well as soft tissue injuries. Increasing the movement and reducing the overall recovery time by helping the body in the healing process. In addition, consistent massage has been known to increase balance.

Massage Therapy has proven to assist in the healing of a large number of conditions including back pain, surgery recovery, eating and sleep disorders as well as high blood pressure and diabetes among others.

Massage Techniques...

Relaxation — The most familiar form of massage to relax and rejuvenate. While the focus of this full-body massage is relaxation and stress relief, it is also beneficial by relieving muscle tension, increasing blood flow to critical areas and breaking down scar tissue.

Deep Tissue — A method accustomed to address problems occurring within the deeper soft tissue and facial layers of the body. Scarring, adhesions, and muscular spasms are all treated with the goal of restoring traditional function and motion to the areas affected. Deep tissue doesn't necessarily mean deep pressure, but rather a focused, specific manner of operating within the deeper layers of the body to allow for more permanent changes to occur.

Neuromuscular — Used to restore balance to the nervous system and musculoskeletal systems. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress can influence nerve transmission and therefore overall function of the body. By applying pressure, to specific areas of irritation we hope to eliminate the irritation and restore normal nerve and muscular function.

Pregnancy — With a focused treatment during pregnancy, we can relieve the aches, pain, stress, and tension while also preparing your muscles for child birth.

Hot Stone — A method used to release tension while renewing your mind and body. We use warm basalt stones, an ancient technique, that will warm your body and loosen your muscles to allow for a release of tension and stress without adding extra pressure.
